Arrivederci Asia
I am writing today’s Stop Press from Singapore as I complete my trip to Asia.
I would like to share some reflections on what I have found:-
-
A world which is feeling optimistic;
-
A series of managed but capitalist economies;
-
People who respect each other;
-
A spirit of moving things forward;
-
A remarkable work ethic.
I do not subscribe to the view that everything is negative in Europe. However one cannot help but contrast my home country’s focus on short term politics with this region’s longer term perspective.
It is perhaps time to accept that we are not right about everything in the West. Perhaps we can learn from other cultures and as a result improve our global way of life.
I must also say that I have not missed the snow and ice!
Risk Audit will be back.
