Credit Agricole Looks at Business Model

In an interview, Jean-Yves Hocher, Credit Agricole’s CEO, has stated that his bank will move towards an originate to distribute model in respect of its project and trade finance business.

The bank will seek to sell nearly 80 per cent of its new exposures.

This contrasts with other French banks in this sector who are looking to substantially to withdraw from these areas because of the new Basel 3 provisions.
