Fred Shredded – More Short Term Politics
Sir Fred Goodwin is no more.
He is now Mr. Fred Goodwin following the decision of the honours committee to strip him of his knighthood.
The decision is based on a perception that Mr. Goodwin “brought the honours system into disrepute”.
He was knighted for his services to banking following the expansion of Royal Bank of Scotland and its acquisition of NatWest.
The decision was made even though he has not been found guilty of any crime nor has the FSA found him in breach of any of its regulatory principles.
Cheap short term politics. What about all the other knights of the realm in the City of London?
Shame on you politicians.
