The Cost of Asian Investment Banking

The Financial Times this morning looks at the revenues and costs of doing investment banking business in Asia.

The article raises the following critical issues:-

·     Too many players crowding the market;

·      Chinese banks paying their staff half as much as other banks;

·      Sharp reductions in fees to win business.

Clearly something will have to give.
